GLS is a leading analytical laboratory offering routine analysis for the tobacco industry.

Services offered include: Total Alkaloids, Total and Reducing sugars, Ammonia, Nitrates, Chlorides, Nitrites, Sand, Moisture and pH testing.

Throughout the world, the tobacco industry relies on GLS’ moisture check samples as the standard in calibrating moisture ovens, brabenders, and Mettler moisture analyzers. Chemical check samples are also available and are used in a GLS-sponsored comparative study of total alkaloids, sugars, and chlorides. GLS also offers another type of check sample called oven monitors (OVs), which are made in bulk volumes. Usually an OV is an order of 50 samples of one tobacco type at the same moisture value.
